I found this old drawing of mine, thought you could use it, morph it i guess i thought it was a graveyard bench scene for a second, I was at a graveyard a few weeks ago I remember there were water fountains too.. like the ones you drink from not the ones that just spout water. well both were there but anyways ... just for reference or use i guess *shrugs* Enviro Sketches-Props and shit CIMG1162

Look'n good Paul, like'n some of the tombstones, and the little shrine is neat. And I adore the french skull, but we'll see if we can fit it in. Can you shoot out some cemetary fence prop sketchs in a bit though? Maybe a brick wall with some bricks that can also be thrown?

Just wanted to get this in here as soon as possible so I could get some critiques before I take it any further. This is the first iteration of most likely 4 or 5 for different sections of the fence. Each of the sections will be different so we can just change up the boards between every link to get rid of that tiled look. Tell me what you think of the first so I don't make more and then learn the suck.

looks great, the green sort of popped out at my eye though but thats just me heh but i doubt anyone is gonna hug the fence and kiss it till it disintegrates when they're in game playing against another person theyll just see the form and the texture from afar hah

Thanks guys. I'm currently working on a second and third iteration of the fence, I'll post when they're done. I'm also going to start making some quick tombstones, solid and broken. Since my traditional art skills are lacking pretty much everything I post will be a screen of my 3D shit.

She's eff'n beautiful, but I do have one problem with it. I'm not sure it'll look right next to the other enviro props just because it looks so realistic. Is there any way you can give it a bit of a skew, or adjust it to make it look more cartoony?

I most certainly can. That's why I posted, I was unsure of if we were going for the realistic or going for the more cartoony approach. I'll tweak it a bit and repost when she's done.

Just a quick update on the fence. I changed the shape to have more of an skewed shape, I think the shape will work nicely, only thing I'm still unsure of is the texture. So here is what I have, as far as becoming more cartoony goes just give me any texture ideas and I will be glad to try them out.

Heres a quick tombstone I busted out in about a half hour this morning.

Just a simple design, nothing to complicated. I think if we are going for a more cartoon style I may just hand paint all the textures, it usually gives a cartoony feeling to the object.

Yeah thats a nice gravestone. I think you might be on to something with the whole hand painted textures idea, it does give it a more cartoony feel.
Definately bring that up to the other artists on thursday.

Here's the tome... one of the throwable items on the asset list. Hope it doesn't look too bad and hope it fits the style we're looking for.. >=/ I did it off the top of my head without any references as well as the texture. I dislike making UV maps maximized Razz Didn't finish texturing the arms or the back yet... this thing is about 572 faces... without the hand claws its about 270 something, also cleaned it up as much as possible already i can't find a way to make it lose more faces/edges/verts. If there's anything wrong or anything that's bad please say so!! P.S. I don't think the book will look this bright when in game heh since we are going night time unless the person walks by a light source like a torch.

Interesting design, but definitely way too many polys. If you could tone it down to around maybe a hundred or less (don't forget that alot of what you have modelled can easily be a texture) then we might be in business. I've been trying to find out how many polys a gun in Unreal was so that I can guage how many we can get away with in our game.
Concerning the design, like I said, it's interesting, but the colours are still wayyy too bold. That might be a good thing, as it will allow players to see it easily, but we don't want it to stand out too much eh?
And don't be afraid to use refferences dangit! Refferences are our friends!
